AlcoBiofuel explains the bioethanol process to the public
Upon the decision of the Belgian government to introduce E10 gasoline on the market as from 1st of January 2017, Alcobiofuels explains how bioethanol is produced. The starting material is corn and about 1/3 is sold as ethanol, 1/3 is sold as high protein feed and 1/3 is CO2 which is captured for valorisation. Belgian bioethanol production is about 500 million liters a year, of which 1/3 is for domestic use, the remaining being exported.
